ウインドサーフィン
今日から、プロウインドサーファー飯島夏樹さんを題材とした
映画「Life 天国で君に逢えたら」が公開となっています。
飯島夏樹さんといえば、ウインドサーフィンのプロツアーに８年間
参戦したり、グアムのココス島でウインドサーフィンセンターを経営
するなど、日本人の中では数少ない、海（ウインドサーフィン）を
生活の中心において、成功をつかんだ人の１人です。
日本ではマイナースポーツであるウインドサーフィン。
実力的には世界レベルにあるプロでも、兼業（アルバイト）をしないと
生計を立てられないのが、現状でもあります。
そんな中で、飯島さんの他にも、海を中心としたライフスタイルを
送り、世界的にリスペクトされている日本人ウインドサーファーが
何名かいます。

世界最高峰の波が立ち、選ばれた人しか入ることができない、
マウイノースショアの「ジョーズ」に、ウインドサーフィン、ストラップ
サーフィンで計２０回エントリーした実績をもつ。

もちろん、映画の主テーマを家族愛なのですが、映像としてウインドサーフィンが多くの人の目に
ふれられるのは、おそらくこれが日本では最初（もしかしたら最後）だと思います。
ブームにはならずとも「ウインドサーフィンってこんなスポーツだったんだ」くらいの認識が
浸透すれば、ウインドサーフィン界にとっても１歩前進、かくれたすごい人材に、スポットが
あたるのでは、と若干期待しています。
